Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of the secretariat and staff, it is my pleasure to invite you to the Washington University Model United Nations Symposium 2010.
We are proud to announce that the conference will be held from October 15, 2010 to October 17, 2010 on the beautiful Washington University campus in the heart of Saint Louis, Missouri.
WUMUNS aims to promote Model United Nations as a fun and educational experience for all students. As one of the only completely crisis-driven conferences offered at the high school level, we strive to give each of our delegates an exciting, unforgettable introduction to the world of international politics and problem solving. From the MUN newcomer to the most seasoned delegate, WUMUNS offers debate and discourse for everyone.
WUMUNS has continued its tradition of innovative committees. I’m excited for the simulations that you will see in the Greek Gods Council and Avatar. Even the Security Council and WHO will have constant crisis updates, meaning that everyone will be challenged to solve problems in new ways.
When we designed our conference, we selected committees of varying sizes, so we could accommodate delegates who prefer large committees, very small ones, and everything in between. No matter what committee you join, WUMUNS prides itself on our excellent staff to student ratio and dedicated crisis staff. By putting an emphasis on smaller committee sizes, we can ensure that whether a student is trying a traditional MUN committee for the first time, or is participating in one of our unique offerings, he or she will be intimately involved in every part of the decision-making process.
We hope that you will join us for what promises to be an engaging and stimulating conference on our campus this fall.
Sincerely,
Kirsten Miller
Secretary-General
